London Rowing Club – Summer Coaching Positions

The London Rowing Club invites applications for 1 -3 summer coaching positions (total number of positions will be dependent on HRSDC Funding) that will be responsible for the delivery of coaching and support for our Learn to Row, Recreational and Bantam programs.
Salary: $14.60/hour for 12 weeks, 30 hours per week

Employment Dates: May 28th – August 26th 2018

Reporting directly to the Summer Student Coordinators and consulting with the Head Coach the responsibilities of these positions include:
- Coaching or assisting in coaching the LRC Learn-to-Row, Recreational, Masters Non-Competitive and Bantam programs.
- Planning weekly work-out and training objectives for the coaching sessions and communicating same.
- Co-ordinate and determine boat assignments for coaching sessions and communicating same.
- Ensure daily maintenance of all rowing shells, safety boats and other equipment is performed.
- Perform light repairs/maintenance of club equipment in conjunction with the Head Coach when needed.
- Maintain areas around boat and oar racks.
- Attend any regattas that the Bantam programs may attend and provide support as needed.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trailers and help in coordination of any movement of equipment as needed.
- Assist with any communications about the programs being offered as requested by communication coordinator.
- Assist Membership Chair to insure all members have been properly registered and fees collected.
- Complete time sheets and submit to treasurer bi weekly for payroll purposes
- Other tasks as assigned.
The ideal candidates should possess the following qualifications:

- Proven leadership and rowing experience
- Ability to work well with persons of all ages
- Minimum completion of RCA Learn to row Instructor (or equivalent)
- Boat Operator’s Card
- Training in First Aid/CPR

You MUST be returning to school as a FULL TIME student in the fall of 2018
